Book writing – Make your hero likeable

This is so important. In the early chapters you must make your hero likeable. You ask us to follow your hero for 400 pages – at least give us a hero to root for. Show us he has a heart, and faults – just like us. But what if your hero is on the wrong side of the law? Well, at least make us understand his motivation.

Book writing – suspense trick – The weaker sex

One way to increase the suspense in your thriller is to make use of a trick I call “The weaker sex.” That means you should have a female heroine instead of a male. That way you can create a sense of vulnerability and more danger (most horror movies use this trick.)
